ADMISSIONs 2027-28

Admissions for the academic year 2027-28 are open for classes 3 to 9, and class 11. The age for admission to class 3 should be at least 7 years and 4 months and at most 8 years and 3 months as on 1st April 2027. Rajghat Besant School is primarily a residential school although we offer the option of day scholar status for new admissions in classes 3 to 5. From class 6 onwards all students must be boarders.

Admission test and interaction with parents will be conducted in person on the school campus at Rajghat, Varanasi. Following instructions may kindly be followed the admission process:

2)    Please download and print the online admission application form from the link below, fill it up, and sign it (both parents- where available). You may fill in the form by typing or by hand. Please scan copies of the filled-out form and email to  office@rajghatbesantschool.org as per the following:

  • The application form should be scanned as a single PDF file,

  • The application should be accompanied by the most recent available mark sheet (internal assessment/Board certificate),

  • Proof of registration fee payment confirmation should be enclosed (screenshot),

  • A copy of Aadhar Card should be enclosed,

  • A copy of Date of birth certificate should be enclosed, and

  • Applicants for class XI shall mention the stream/subject choices along with the
    admission application form).

Please carry the original application form while visiting the school for the admission test.

3)    Email invitations shall be sent for admission test/interactions to shortlisted candidates on registered email addresses well in advance. The test will be conducted on the date indicated in the email at the Rajghat Besant School, Rajghat Fort, Varanasi – 221001.  Students must be accompanied by both parents for the test. 

Rajghat is well connected by rail, air and road.  Nearby railway stations are Varanasi Junction/Cantt. (BSB), Varanasi City (BCY), Kashi (KEI), Banaras (BSBS), and Mughal Sarai (Deen Dayal Upadhyay Nagar).  The Lal Bahadur Shastri International airport at Babatpur is around 22 kilometers away. 

4)    The assessment process includes a written test followed by individual interaction with the applicant (accompanied by parents). All students except applicants for class 11 will be assessed on basic proficiency in Mathematics and English. For class 11 admissions, students will be assessed on the three elective subjects that they would like to take up for study. Children up to class 9 may also be tested for their knowledge of Hindi since they may have to take it up as their second language as per CBSE norms.

5)    The result of the admission test will be intimated to the parents through email within two weeks. The selected applicants should proceed with the remaining admission formalities including payment of fees, within the stipulated time. Non-payment of fees within the stipulated time may lead to cancellation of the admission offer. 

6) The new session will start in the first week of April 2027.

  1. Languages offered in Rajghat Besant School:   Rajghat Besant School is a residential, co-educational, and non-sectarian school with English as its medium of instruction. The school is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi. Languages offered for study at the school are English, Hindi, and Sanskrit; English is the first language.  The student is required to study Hindi as a second language and Sanskrit as a third language from classes 6 to 8.  Classes 9 and 10 are required to study English as their first language, and either Hindi or Sanskrit as a second language.  Classes 11 and 12 are required to study only English.

  5. Admission test: 

    The admission test/interaction will be conducted in person on the school campus at Rajghat, Varanasi, beginning in the month of October 2026.  All requisite documents along with the duly filled-in admission application form must be sent by email to be considered for admission.
